I’ve prepared a couple of prints for 2 upcoming shows. See here and here.

I’m also going to China today for a short holiday! I’ll be checking out the Expo, trecking around Xi An and tasting amazing food climb the Great Wall and shop till I drop in Beijing. The last time I’ve been was 5 years ago, going to see alot of changes, can’t wait!

I googled and googled and saw that Roy Lichtenstein have never painted an African person before so I decided to do it myself and cover them with chocolate-brown ben-day dots!

I actually had these done quite a while back, so this is a very fashionably late post.

When it comes to my own designs I’m generally quite indecisive and changes my mind almost all the time. The 1st cover is from one of the characters in my animation for the Shots magazine. In a sense he’s a fire-god of some sort and I added in the colour stripes behind him to make it look more contemporary.

And this is option 2, I felt that the fire-god was a bit too serious, so I used these little ones, they are the same guys from the business cards I made.

Voila!*The Chinese symbol on the top right corner represents the “meng” part of my name.

My first time

CIMG3850smlAfter researching, emailing, phoning, googling, obsessing and begging around for about 2 years here, I finally found someone who could teach me screen printing. I was ecstatic when I found Tertius our screen printing teacher– was  shivering from head to toe with excitement.

Currently I wish I had more time and space to do things like this. Work projects are not always extremely excite-able..

I recently participated in the Night of 1000 drawings exhibition. The night was packed with local hipsters, beers, cues, freebies and lots of bad drawings along with a fair amount of exceptionally good ones.  The turn out was amazing and I can’t remember the last exhibition I went to where I had to cue to get in except the crowded Tate Modern experience….

I’ll never know if my drawings were sold or not, but thats the beauty of doing charity work i guess :)  Unfortunately I didn’t take any photos of the event because I had a fight with my huggybear and bringing a camera just wasn’t the priority at that moment, but here’s a pic that I found on the web.

I had a good chuckle when I saw this article on LIFE magazine.

Also made a drawing out of him, using a squeaky mouse. Also a new style I’m trying out.

I just finished this piece from the friend’s portrait series. Found a chance to use the foliage/flowers drawing I did a while back.
